A postdoctoral research position is available with Dr. Eric Schultz and Dr. Jason Vokoun in the Departments of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Natural Resources & the Environment at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT. The postdoc will participate in a Sea Grant-funded project to evaluate the population-dynamic effects of alternative management approaches in a recreational marine fishery.

The postdoc will conduct assimilation of biological and fisheries data and modeling.  Additional responsibilities include written and oral communication of research results and outreach to anglers and the general public.

The successful applicant will have completed a PhD degree in fisheries management or a related field prior to the start date. An excellent publication record, evidence of strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently are required.  Preference will be given to scientists with experience in stock assessment and population dynamics modeling.

The intended start date for this position is 1 February 2015. The duration is for 1.5 years. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
