Hi Chris,

Aqua Shock Solutions ( http://www.aquashocksolutions.com) makes two
lithum-ion powered backpack electrofishing units that are half the cost of
similar Smith Root products and are, in my opinion, more durable, more user
friendly, and far less temperamental. I used them for 4 years as a fish
tech. in the Smokies and again at Penn State for graduate and PA Brook
Trout unassessed waters initiative field work. They don't annoyingly beep
when on and they don't shut down if you have to duck under logs or bend
over.
