Hi Fish-SCIers,

I'm conducting a review of electronic monitoring in commercial fisheries, where this has considered interactions with threatened, endangered and protected species (seabirds, marine mammals, turtles, sea snakes, sharks, rays, corals).

The review is focused on:

- type of interactions with these species that EM has been used to monitor, and,

- reviewer training given to detect and characterise those interactions in imagery.

I've included a scope below to help guide responses, but any information from any location, scale and type of EM programme (e.g. trial, research study, operational BAU) is welcomed.

Thanks very much.

Johanna Pierre

-------------------

Review scope:
The objectives of the EM programme
Fishing methods encompassed by the EM programme
The taxa of threatened, endangered, and protected species (TEPS) relevant to the programme
Type of programme (e.g. EM pilot, business-as-usual fisheries monitoring, technological development or research programme)
Types of TEP interactions that were the focus of the programme, and/or that were identified and described during imagery review
Any information on review and analytical approaches relevant to TEPs, e.g., how review was structured, amount of imagery reviewed, how interactions were documented, what data were recorded from imagery, and
whether artificial intelligence/machine learning approaches were considered or applied to imagery review.
Information on training of reviewers and analysts
              Outcomes, recommendations and learnings; and,
The source of the information and reference/citation details where available.
