                    Post-Doctoral Opportunity

We will have an opening for a three-year post-doctoral
position beginning in September 1996. The Great Lakes
Fishery Commission has funded a modeling study to examine
the influence of habitat supply on the population dynamics
of several Great Lakes fishes. The Commission hopes to use
the results of this study to further the development of fish
community goals for the Great Lakes that incorporate the
limitations imposed by habitat supply constraints. We are
seeking a highly-motivated individual to play a major role
in the development of models linking fish population
dynamics with their habitat on a basin-wide scale. The
person filling this position will need to have a strong
background in population dynamics and/or habitat modeling.

Salary and benefits will be $28,000-$31,000 (CAN) per year
depending on the candidate's qualifications. The incumbent
will be academically associated with Trent University in
Ontario, Canada, but will work extensively with both
principal investigators as well as with cooperating
scientists throughout the Great Lakes basin.
