John-

A person in our lab works with squid statoliths. He has a small video
camera connected to the computer with a frame grabber. He views the
statolith on an accessory monitor and uses Optimas on the PC. The imaging
program can be used to count the increments and even measure the distance
between marks. Image filters can also be used to make the increments
clearer. Any questions, please contact me directly.
