VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT FOR SUPERVISORY RESEARCH FISHERY BIOLOGIST, GS-0482-14 With the National Marine Fisheries Service in Woods Hole, MA
ABOUT THIS POSITION: The incumbent supervises and conducts research to increase knowledge of biology and distribution of finfish and invertebrate species. S/he investigates aspects of ecosystem structure, patterns of energy flow, and impacts of selective harvesting patterns on community dynamics, and communicates research results through peer-review publications, reports, and participation and presentations at scientific meetings. S/he evaluates research programs and makes recommendations for improvement. The incumbent also oversees preparations and submissions of research proposals; and insures effective utilization of personnel, budget and other resources.
BASIS OF RATING: Competitors will be rated on the basis of the extent and quality of experience and training relevant to the duties of the position, based on information contained in their applications.
