Employment Opportunity: Please Post

Temporary Scientific Tech. 2 - Washington Department of Fish & Wildlife.
Position is located in Ellensburg, WA.
2 positions at this level.

Start: July 1, 1997
End: Sept. 30, 1997

Duties: Assist in conducting backpack electrofishing population estimates of
rainbow trout in tributaries of the Yakima River as part of a long-term
monitoring program. Record field data and enter data into spreadsheets.
Participate in snorkel surveys of fish assemblages. Conduct habitat
assessments. Participate in other activities as required. Approximately 60%
of time in the field.

Necessary skills: Visual fish identification skills. Ability to safely carry
and operate backpack electrofishing equipment in streams. Familiarity with
computer data entry utilizing spreadsheet software. Snorkeling, especially
in streams. Willingness to work long hours under field conditions when
required. Ability to work well with others.

Salary: $1940/month ($11.15/hour)
