Joe Moody is one of the many kids we receive, at FE-Request, this
kind of questions from. I now forward it to the conference as it
seems to be directed to marine mammal scientists. To deal with
this issue (the kids; the future ?) was _one_ of the aims I had,
for a few days ago, when I started the discussion about junior
scientists, jobs et al.: Hard information from the 'real world'
would be overwhelming to kids: No child ever dreams to be an
unemployee.
Some of the scientists in this conference would argue this issue
goes beyond FISH-ECOLOGY's aims: However, the fact is the kids
know we are 'here' and questions are, more and more often, fired
away to us. In my opinion, not responding would let them down.
Hence, I'd propose, those of you who're interested, to take 20
minutes to extrapolate Joe's questions to your field of expertise
and send over a copy to [log in to unmask]
(write KID in the subject field, please). Once the input is
ready, I will compile the material and send it in to the
conference so it remains in our logs and the material may be sent
to future queries from kids.
Finally, those of you who'd like to respond to Joe Moody, please,
do it directly to his e-address (you may, also, cc your reply to
[log in to unmask]) and it'll be compiled in
the requested material.
Is this important ?.
Cheers,
Aldo-Pier Solari/lo

Subject: expert interview
Hello, My name is Joseph Moody and I attend Central York High
School in York, Pa. I have to do science a report on 3 Marine
Organisms and one of the guidelines for this project is to
interview an expert on the topic that we have chosen. In this
project the person that we interview has to be a expert and the
person I chose to interview was a Marine Biologist because I know
that they know a lot of things dealing with this topic. I would
like to thank you for taking the time for even reading this. If
you would please could you answer these ten questions.
1. Where did you attend school or get your education to be a
Marine Biologist ?
2. What Motivated you to want to be a Marine biologist?
3. Is your job hard at some times because you have to work with
these big mammals?
4. When you are dealing with whales are you ever afraid?
5. Is your job stressful at times ?
6. At any time in your career did you ever think about quitting
your job ?
7. Would you suggest this to career if some if they like marine
mammals?
8. What is your favorite mammal to work with?
9. What is the hardest part of being a marine biologist?
10. Have you actually ever got to swim with a dolphin, whale, or
sea turtle.
