I am involved in a project to study senescence in long-lived rockfish, in particular reproductive and organ pathology, cellular response to stresses such as UV radiation and oxidative damage, and DNA analysis.
I need a list of published articles verifying the use of hard parts, especially otolith, as a surrogate for chronological aging. This would include the technique, verification and % error rate.
If anyone could point me to specific articles I would be most appreciative; articles on rockfish would be best as that is my focus.
Either send to the discussion group or to me personally at: [log in to unmask]
I'll compile responses and share with the group.
Sincerely, John C. Guerin
