Looking at the picture  taken  on  Beverton  & Holt (B-H) in 1949
[1], several questions come to my  mind.   I  find  the  original
picture  quite  amazing: The old telephone with the cable hanging
from the roof, the 3-D model maquette, papers & pencils and other
details ...  an  historical  picture.

There  are a few names printed in the history of fishery science:
Just to name a few pioneers (risking to forget many ...):

    Ricker, B-H, Shepherd, Gulland, Cushing, Rothschild,
    Pitcher-Hart, Paulik ... among others.

In FE, we've had the opportunity to find & read Pitcher  &  Hart,
for  instance.   There's  a  site, somewhere, where Ricker's main
work and picture are shown.   However,  I  ve not not succeded to
find the biographies  of  the  above  pioneers  any  place  else.
Hence, I will ask two questions:

(a). Has any one in FE known, personally, any of the pioneers ?
     - Would you like to write a poster to FISH-ECOLOGY on some
       amusing anecdote concerning them ?

(b). Could, any one, please, forward to FISH-ECOLOGY any material
     concerning their biographies ?
