Hans,
A few years ago I completed a very extensive review of the injurious effects electrofishing fields on fish, including early life stages and a very comprehensive indexed bibliography. The citation is:
Snyder, D. E. 1992. Impacts of electrofishing on fish. Report of Colorado State University Larval Fish Laboratory to U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Glen Canyon Environmental Studies Aquatic Coordination Team, Flagstaff, Arizona.
Our supply of this 214-page report has been exhausted. However, paper or microfiche copies are available through the Fish and Wildlife Reference Service. Item request numbers and costs for clients other than cooperators are listed below. There is no charge for U.S. federal or state agency cooperators. Send or call your request to:
Fish and Wildlife Reference Service 5430 Grosvenor Lane, Suite 110 Bethesda, Maryland 20814-2158 USA Phone: 1-800-582-3421; fax: 1-301-564-4059
Request: MIN# 809440039, Impacts of Electrofishing on Fish (Snyder 1992).
Paper copies (116 p. of report and 98 p. of appendices including an 854-reference indexed bibliography) -- $21.40 plus $2.50 for postage/handling.
Microfiche copies (3 fiche) -- $1.50 plus $2.50 for postage/handling.
The following articles were abstracted from that report (I can provide photocopies if you don't have access to the publications):
Since completion of that report in 1992, about 10 publications have addressed research on the injurious effects of electrofishing. Most have appeared in the North American Journal of Fisheries Management. I suggest you scan volumes of that journal published since 1991.
I hope this response has been helpful.
