Good-day -  a very interesting topic about which there are the data that is
available   -  and then the real situation.  Most of the information about
the impact of longline fisheries on wildlife is not reported.

Tuna fisheries have caused concern for many years but among ornithologists
working in the temperate and polar regions of the Southern hemisphere the
advent of longlining for 'toothfish' in recent years has generated genuine
worries about its impact on the populations of albatrosses, and petrels.

There is an Antarctic and Polar regions bibliography available if you can
find an accessible source that lists much of the available literature.

The Commission for Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources -
based in Hobart -  is responsible for managing marine living resources in
the Southern Ocean.  They have an extensive bibliography about this subject
for the region.
