Dear Fish-Ecology member I have a request about salmonid migration, especially atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and brown trout (Salmo trutta) but all salmonid species are of interest, in relation to the discharge of domestic- and industrial waste water. The waste water is well treated so there is no depletion of oxygen in the streams that receive the waste water Does anyone have knowledge and/or references concerning the behaviour/reaction of salmonids when exposed to treated waste water, especially waste water from dye works, sewage treatment plants and paper mills. Does the treated waste water disturb the spawing migration of salmonids, e.g. as a chemical barrier, attraction or any sublethal effects. Does the treated waste water affect the smolt migration by either imprinting or otherwise.
Thank You for your help
