                      POST DOCTORAL POSITION WANTED

I have used quantitative genetic methods including DFREML (with the animal
model) to analyze behaviour and production traits in tilapia, for my Ph.D.
I have also developed and used DNA microsatellite primers (for pedigree
identification) in my Ph.D. research.  This work also involved breeding
the fish according to a specific (nested) mating design - in this
connection I have over four years' experience in the breeding and
maintenance of a computer-controlled tilapia culture facility.


My research interests include studying the ecological and evolutionary
aspects of domestication, particularly the role and consequences of
competition in cultivated fish, although I would like to gain some
experience in other aspects of fish domestication such as fish health and
nutrition, and brood stock management.

I am available from November, 1997.
