Florencia,
In response to your query, forwarded your message for distribution to many
biologists working with sturgeon via the sturgeon listserve. I expect
you've gotten at least a few responses from members of the listserve.
I have not worked with white sturgeon myself but hope to do a comparative
study of white and green sturgeon early morphological development sometime
in the next few years (as I have for Atlantic, shortnose, river, and pallid
sturgeon). Both federal and state agencies in the northwestern U.S. are
heavily involved in study or management of white sturgeon. Also, biologists
at the University of California at Davis are very much involved in culture
and related study of white sturgeon. There is a directory of biologists
working with sturgeon that is available through the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service, Panama City Field Office, Panama city, Florida, 32405-3721 (phone
904-763-1059). I suggest you request a copy of the latest directory (1994?).
