An international conference on 'Trophic interactions in Shallow Freshwater
and Brackish Lakes' will be organized by the Institute of Freshwater Biology
and Inland Fisheries in August 1998.

With respect to the topics of this list, we invite you to attend if you may
give a presentation on
1. Benthic-pelagic interactions, focusing on fish and their diet, nutrient
release etc.
2. Littoral-pelagic coupling, focusing on fish and their diel or seasonal
migrations, habitat shifts etc.

A 'shallow lake' is defined by being polymictic, irrespective of surface
area and of mean or maximum depth.
