Project Name:  Stream Fish Loss Assessment
Job Title:   Fisheries Technician

Job Location:  Big Wood River, Loving, and Silver creeks

Job Description:  Project will estimate losses of resident salmonids to
irrigation diversions on streams in the Big Wood River Valley area.  Duties
will involve marking fish with PIT and/or Floy tags, operating/maintaining
weirs and fyke net arrays, data recording and editing, and maybe some radio
telemetry work.  Housing will be provided.

Project:  Hatchery Trout Research
Positions:  (2) bio-aides
Location:  Jerome, Idaho
Duties: Assist senior technician and project biologist on the hatchery
trout research project. Specific duties include planting and jaw tagging
rainbow trout, collecting limnological data, sorting and counting
zooplankton samples, setting gillnets, and completing creel surveys.  The
incumbent will be required to work away from the office for up to five days
at a time and some weekend work will be required.  Housing is available
approximately 20 miles from the office.

Duties include: maintaining remote fish traps, enumerating/handling
steelhead eggs, collects fish samples/water quality data , prepares
reports, monitor net-pens, spawning/handling threatened and endangered
species, operates power boats, maintains records.  Housing available.
 Per-diem provided while at remote traps.

B.      1 Biological Aide (8 months, mid March to mid November, 1998)
Duties include: steelhead spawning, data collection, fish culture, fish
handling,   Other hatchery work as assigned.  Housing available.  Benefits
provided

C.      1 Biological Aide (6 months, March 30, 1998 to September 11, 1998)
Duties include: roving remote adult steelhead trap tender, spawn steelhead,
fish culture, data entry, summer tour guide, some weekend work.  Housing
available.  Benefits provided.  Per-diem provided while at remote traps.

D.      2 Biological Aides (<5 months, March 23/30, 1998 to August 23/30, 1998)
Duties include: remote adult steelhead trap tender, spawn steelhead, fish
culture, stocking fish, give tours, other duties as assigned.  Housing
available.  Per-diem provided while at remote traps.

E.      1 Laborer ( mid May to mid September, 1998)
Duties include: summer season maintenance work with Utility Craftsman,
includes grounds, vehicles, and buildings.  Housing available.
